Mailshots and the MPS

We're sending out a mailshot, how do I know if someone is registered with the Mailing Preference Service? Some consumers and sole traders have registered with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS). This means they do not want to receive unsolicited direct mail. If your organisation sends out direct mail to those that have registered you could be breaching codes administered by the Advertising Standards Authority. You could also be fined! OK2Mail provides a search facility where registered users can search up to 50 addresses free to check if they are listed with the MPS. If additional addresses require checking, these will cost 1p per each one. http://ok2mail.co.uk/
